Lagavulin Lg4 SMS Elements of Islay (Speciality Drinks Ltd)

Speciality Drinks bottled this Lagavulin as Lg4 in its Elements of Islay range, a cask strength Oloroso release for the Netherlands in 2013. Lagavulin was built in 1816 on the bay that gives it its name, on southern Islay.

Long fermentation and slow distillation shape the heavy peated spirit. Matured in Oloroso at full strength, the sherry wraps the smoke in dried fruit.

At its natural strength of 55.7%. The phenols, guaiacol among them, drive the smoke, the Oloroso giving fig and raisin. A rare sherried Elements of Islay Lagavulin.
