Description

A cask strength 12, this was the 2013 Special Release, matured in American oak. Lagavulin was built in 1816 beside the bay that gives it its name.

Lagavulin's peated wash is taken slowly off pear-shaped stills. Bottled undiluted after twelve years in American oak, it offers a direct coastal smoke.

Cask strength, 55.1%. Guaiacol and other phenols power the smoke, the American oak adding vanilla, the full strength lifting both. A cask strength Special Release.
