Description

This 1988 Lagavulin was bottled by Moon-Import for its In the Pink series, a 12 year old single cask from ex-Bourbon cask 2030, an outturn of 334 bottles, one of a set of sibling casks. Established in 1816, Lagavulin sits in a quiet bay on the south of Islay.

Long fermentation and slow distillation shape the heavy peated spirit. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, twelve years carry a vivid smoke.

Bottled at 46%. The phenols, guaiacol among them, drive the smoke, with vanilla from the ex-Bourbon. The recorded note is a husky edge. An In the Pink single cask Lagavulin.
