Description
Weingut K+K Kirnbauer works in Mittelburgenland in Austria, a region known for its red grapes. This Pink Pearls rose frizzante is a lightly sparkling wine drawn from the estate's red fruit, most likely the local Zweigelt. As a frizzante it carries a softer, gentler bead than a full sparkling wine, made by tank fermentation to keep the primary red fruit fresh and bright, and bottled young in a recent vintage.
The wine is a bright pink with a fine, lively perlage. The nose is full of fresh red fruit, with strawberry, raspberry and red currant joined by a touch of cherry and rose petal. The palate is fresh and dry, with lively red berry fruit, a soft bead and a clean finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees. It makes a lively aperitif and pairs well with lighter poultry dishes, summer salads and cold cuts.
