Description
Weingut K+K Kirnbauer works in Mittelburgenland in Austria, a region built on red grapes such as Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt. This Cesario is a rose Sekt made in the brut style, drawing its colour and red fruit from the estate's red varieties. Made by traditional bottle fermentation with time on the lees, it gains a fine, persistent bead and a gentle biscuit depth behind the fruit, while the low brut dosage keeps it dry.
The wine is a delicate pink with a fine perlage. The nose is fruity, with fresh strawberry, raspberry and red currant joined by a touch of cherry and ripe white peach. The palate is dry and lively, with red berry fruit, a fine mousse and a clean, savoury finish carrying a gentle biscuit note. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a lively aperitif and pairs well with lighter poultry, white fish and pork dishes.
