Description
Katlenburger, founded in 1925, is a German cellar known for fruit based drinks rather than grape wine. This is a sparkling fruit wine flavoured with peach and exotic fruit, made by carbonating a fruit wine base built on quality juices. At a low 6.9 per cent alcohol it is designed as a light, sociable aperitif, with the sweetness of the fruit balanced by the freshness of the bubbles.
The drink is bright and lightly sparkling. The nose is fruity and open, led by ripe peach and bright tropical fruit with mango and apricot in support. The palate is soft and gently sweet, with juicy stone fruit and exotic character carried by a fine bead, finishing fresh and clean. Serve well chilled at cellar temperature in a flute or wine glass. It works as an aperitif for a celebration and pairs well with fresh fruit and fruity desserts, lighter salads and gently spiced dishes.
