José Cuervo 1800 Blanco Jean Michel Basquiat “Trumpet 1984”

This bottle belongs to the 1800 Essential Artists Series and carries Jean Michel Basquiat's Trumpet 1984 artwork. Inside is 1800 Silver, the unaged blanco of the 1800 range, produced by Jose Cuervo at La Rojena, NOM 1122, the oldest working distillery in the town of Tequila, from 100% Agave tequilana Weber var. azul rather than mixto, and twice distilled.
As a blanco it is bottled at 40% close to distillation, keeping the cooked agave clear and direct. The palate is rounded with a peppery backbone and a long finish, in the polished, widely accessible style of the 1800 line. The Basquiat artwork is the draw for collectors, while the spirit itself is a clean, pepper led blue agave blanco.
