Description
Gold Spot 13 Years Old belongs to the Generations releases, marking milestones in the Mitchell and Son family firm behind the Spot range. Distilled at Midleton in Co. Cork in 2011 and bottled in 2024, it is a single pot still whiskey offered for Europe at 46%, carrying an age statement rare in the range.
Three cask types shape it, ex-bourbon American oak, Oloroso sherry and Recioto della Valpolicella, the last an Italian sweet red wine cask that adds a dark, raisined fruit. Over thirteen years the spirit gathers honey, malt and dried fruit, while the unmalted barley holds the pot still spice and the oily, waxy weight of the style. Triple distilled and unpeated, from the Midleton pot stills.
