Cask 933 belongs to Signatory Vintage's 30 Years Old Glenrothes 1995 series, with Andrew Symington selecting from his Edradour warehoused stocks for the Cask Strength Collection's Symington's Choice tier. At 58.4% this cask runs hotter than its siblings, suggesting a tighter cask seal and less evaporation over three decades of European oak ageing. The 497 bottle outturn was released into European markets in 2025.

A higher final strength after thirty years implies the cask ran cooler or sat in a warehouse position with lower humidity, both of which slow alcohol evaporation. In an Oloroso first fill butt the cask interaction concentrates rather than dilutes: oxidised sherry residue from solera ageing combines with three decades of slow lignin breakdown producing syringaldehyde, eugenol and the sotolon that signals rancio. The high strength end of the spectrum carries those compounds through more sharply, sometimes manifesting as a sulphury coal gas note that older sherry tasters recognise as a marker of long oxidative ageing.

The nose presents sherry, dark chocolate and that distinctive coal gas signature, layered over dried fruit and hay. Honey threads underneath, balancing the savoury depth with residual sweetness. The palate runs dense and concentrated, the 58.4% strength pushing the cask's full extractive load forward: cocoa nib, fig, raisin and a tannic clove finish. The wood holds firm, anchoring the spirit's natural Speyside fruit against the cask's long oxidation.
