Bottled in 2023 at 51% from a single Oloroso butt, the 453 bottle outturn was released into European markets. The relatively soft cask strength after twenty eight years suggests warehousing in higher humidity conditions, favouring slower alcohol than water evaporation.

Twenty eight years in a single Oloroso butt sits firmly in long extractive territory. The cask's first fill activity has tapered, with secondary extractions of lignin (syringaldehyde, vanillin, eugenol) and hemicellulose (furfural, hydroxymethylfurfural) dominating. European oak's ellagitannin signature is fully structured into the spirit, and the residual Oloroso sherry's sotolon and oxidised aldehydes deliver the savoury walnut backbone characteristic of long aged sherry casks. The cask now contributes mainly through deep secondary chemistry rather than active first fill extraction.

The nose lifts dark chocolate and dried fruit with a nutty oiliness pointing to sotolon development, layered over an old wood resin signature. Sherried sweetness threads underneath the savoury core. The palate runs through fig, prune and developing rancio at 51%, with cocoa nib and walnut bitterness emerging mid palate. The finish is long, oily and slightly resinous, with the European oak holding the spirit's Speyside fruit in tight balance against the cask's accumulated depth.
