This GlenAllachie was bottled by Douglas Laing, a 25 year old, distilled in 1992, from cask DL 12397, at 50.6%, one of 206 bottles. GlenAllachie is a Speyside single malt, revived in 2017 by the team of Billy Walker. Its water is the Lochnagar Burn, drawn down from the slopes of Ben Rinnes. It was mothballed in 1985 and reopened in 1989, a modern distillery by Speyside standards. It was built for the 1960s blend boom, its make long destined for the blender's vat. It was founded in 1967, designed by the architect William Delme Evans, his fourth distillery after Jura and Tullibardine.

Distilled to a full, generous cut, for the rich, sherried make GlenAllachie is known for. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, a soft vanilla beneath the fruit. At this evaporative stage ellagitannins lend structure while oxidation builds a richer raisin and treacle. Maturation runs slow and even in the on site dunnage warehouses at Aberlour.

Bottled at a cask strength 50.6%, it is deep and concentrated. Date, fig and a warm cinnamon, lifted by a sweet oak. Fig, honey and a dark chocolate fill the middle. A long finish carries raisin, chocolate and a treacle. This is a rich, sherried Speyside single malt.
