This GlenAllachie was bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company, a 10 year old, at 54.2%, one of 460 bottles. GlenAllachie is a rich, sherried Speyside malt from Aberlour, built on full bodied spirit and active casks. It was built for the 1960s blend boom, its make long destined for the blender's vat. Its water is the Lochnagar Burn, drawn down from the slopes of Ben Rinnes. It matures its spirit in sixteen dunnage warehouses on the distillery site at Aberlour.

The spirit was drawn from a thick, full bodied wash, building a deep malt of dried fruit and dark sugar. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanillin and a soft coconut under the malt. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin rounding out as esters lend riper orchard fruit and a chocolate depth. The full bodied spirit takes active wood well, carrying its dark sugars through the years. The casks are picked closely, the wood matched to the rich GlenAllachie make.

At its natural 54.2% it is rich and chewy. Orange, raisin and a treacle edge, with a warm oak spice. A baked apple and a warm cinnamon lift the middle. The finish is long, rich and spiced. This is a deep, sherried Speyside single malt.
