A 9 year old Glen Scotia, a distillery bottling, at 54.3%. Glen Scotia is a Campbeltown single malt made on Crosshill Loch water in the Wee Toon. The Glen was added to the Scotia name around 1930, the distillery dating to 1832.

It was made on Crosshill Loch water in the heart of Campbeltown, building the Campbeltown Glen Scotia style. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, a soft vanilla beneath the coastal spirit. In these extractive early years the oak gives vanillin as vanilla and oak lactones as coconut over a briny, oily spirit. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the briny Campbeltown spirit. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit. Long ageing turns the fresh citrus towards dried fruit, salted toffee and a soft spice. It is one of only three working distilleries left in Campbeltown, with Springbank and Glengyle.

At its natural 54.3% it is concentrated. Citrus, salt and a soft vanilla, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Citrus, brine and a salted toffee fill the middle. The close is oily and salted, fruit over a gentle oak. This is Glen Scotia's coastal, briny Campbeltown style.
