Glen Scotia 6 Years Old 2016 Thalassa Campbeltown blend with pre Dynamik sample 59% (King Cask) is a blended malt Scotch from King Cask. It vats Campbeltown malts, Glen Scotia among them. It sits on High Street in Campbeltown, on the Kintyre peninsula on the west coast.

Glen Scotia's oily malt rounds it with a coastal, salted edge. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the oily spirit. Long ageing turns the fresh citrus towards dried fruit, salted toffee and a soft spice. Its water is drawn from Crosshill Loch above the town. A long ferment gives a fruity make that ages with a coastal, oily grace. The maritime setting on the Kintyre coast threads salt and brine through the spirit. Years in oak round the spirit, the brine and citrus deepening to a salted toffee. Its Victoriana and single cask releases have won the distillery wide acclaim. A gentle maturation suits the oily make, the sea salt and toffee growing with time.

At cask strength 58% it is full bodied. Sea salt, citrus and a salted toffee run through it, oily and coastal. A dried fruit and a soft oak give it depth. The close is oily and salted, fruit over a gentle oak. A characterful blended malt Scotch.
