The bottler Lady of the Glen bottled this Glen Keith, a 19 year old, distilled in 1995, bottled at 51.1%, one of 261 bottles. Glen Keith, founded in 1957, was Seagram's innovation plant on Speyside. It was built in 1957 by Seagram on the site of a meal mill, directly behind Strathisla.

It was made on Balloch Hill water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, building the fresh Glen Keith style. A refill bourbon hogshead held it, keeping the fresh, fruity character to the fore. Into oxidative maturity, slow air ingress builds fruity ethyl esters (apple and pear) and a honeyed depth. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Keith warehouses. Long ageing turns the fresh apple towards tropical fruit, honey and a soft spice. The clean, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear.

At a hearty 51.1% it carries real weight. Apple, pear and a soft vanilla, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fresh and fruity, the light spirit shining through. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is a clean, fruity Speyside single malt.
