Description
Weingut Frauwallner sit in Vulkanland Steiermark in the south-east of Austria, a region marked by volcanic soils and fresh, aromatic wines. Lilli is their rosé frizzante, a semi sparkling wine built for easy, everyday drinking and led by the red Zweigelt grape. The base wine is kept in stainless steel to hold the varietal fruit and bright acidity, then given a light, gentle fizz rather than a full bottle fermentation. Bottled young, it stays fresh and primary, with a soft, persistent bead.
The wine is a pale rosé with a fine, lively perlage. Strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant lead the nose, with a light floral note. The palate is fresh and fruity, with a dry style and an easy, gluggable structure, closing clean and lively. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. A relaxed aperitif that suits light starters, antipasti, salads, poultry and lighter fish across warm weather drinking.
