Foursquare The Real McCoy Limited Edition Rum (Madeira Cask)

The Real McCoy is bottled at Foursquare, Richard Seale's St Philip distillery and the standard bearer for additive-free Barbados rum. This Limited Edition marries the house pot and column blend, mostly aged in ex-bourbon oak, with a portion finished in ex-Madeira casks, all of it carried to 12 years and bottled at 46% with no added sugar, colour or flavour.

The pot-and-column makeup gives the classic balanced Bajan shape, cleaner column spirit rounded by richer double-retort pot still. Coconut, vanilla and caramel lead the nose, the Madeira lends light dried fruit and a peppery lift, and the finish stays creamy and oak-driven with a touch of raisin. The Madeira influence is restrained rather than dominant, so the rum reads dry and elegant while tasting fuller than its strength suggests, an easygoing introduction to the Foursquare style for sipping or sharing.
