Delicate cherry blossom drifts over fresh yuzu and green tea, with a tingling flick of sansho pepper to keep it from turning soft. Distilled in Japan with hand-picked botanicals, its name means ‘joy’ — and the floral, faintly sweet finish makes good on it. A gin that tastes like spring on Hokkaido.
Description
Etsu Sakura is a Japanese gin whose name translates as 'joy', distilled with hand-picked botanicals that lean into the country's own larder. Alongside the signature sakura cherry blossom sit green tea, yuzu citrus and sansho pepper — ingredients that give the gin a distinctly Japanese freshness and depth. At 43% it carries enough intensity to hold its shape neat or in a cocktail, and arrives in an elegant gift box.
The nose offers delicate floral sakura, fresh citrus, green tea and a light spice. The palate is smooth and balanced, cherry blossom and refreshing yuzu meeting mild juniper and a tingle of sansho pepper, and the finish runs long, elegant and gently sweet with floral and fresh notes. Serve it with a floral tonic and a twist of lemon, or stir it into a Sakura Martini.
