From the bottler Daily Dram, a 34 year old Dufftown, distilled in 1976, bottled at 56.2%. Dufftown is a Speyside single malt drawn from Jock's Well in the Conval Hills. It was founded in 1895 within a former meal mill by Peter Mackenzie and his partners.

The spirit was made on Conval Hills water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, for a soft, nutty, fruit driven make. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla and a soft honey. Ethereal and fragile, decades draw the malt to a honeyed, nutty delicacy of sotolon and old oak. Built for the blender's art, the spirit ages with grace as a single malt. The clean, grassy spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and honey to the fore. Its water is drawn from Jock's Well, an artesian spring in the Conval Hills. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple and malt deepening to honey. Water from Jock's Well and a long ferment give the clean Dufftown make.

At a natural 56.2% it is full and nutty. Nutty malt, green apple and a gentle spice, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Pear, honey and a creamy malt fill the middle. The finish is smooth, nutty and gently spiced. This is an approachable Speyside single malt.
