Gunpowder green tea gives this Irish gin a tart, refreshing edge over fresh grapefruit, lemongrass and lime. Distilled at The Shed in the west of Ireland, it weaves Asian botanicals through a classic juniper base in a copper still. Floral, citrus-bright and smooth, with a clever bitter twist.

Description
Drumshanbo Gunpowder is made at The Shed Distillery in the west of Ireland, and its name comes from gunpowder tea, the slow-dried Chinese green tea tightly rolled into pellets. Steeped alongside the spirit, it lends a gentle tannic bitterness that runs through the whole gin. Classic juniper forms the base, but it is surrounded by an unusual cast of lemongrass, cardamom, star anise, grapefruit, orange and lime, all distilled in a traditional copper still for a notably smooth texture.
The nose is fresh and aromatic, intense citrus over soft juniper with a hint of tea. The palate is lively and layered, spice and bright citrus meeting that subtle tea bitterness, before a long, smooth, faintly spiced finish. Pour it as a gin and tonic with a slice of grapefruit, or let it carry a Gin Basil Smash.
