Drumshanbo Gunpowder comes from The Shed Distillery in County Leitrim, where the house signature is gunpowder tea, a slowly dried Chinese green tea that lends a soft, tart freshness. Around it sit classic juniper, coriander, angelica root and cardamom, plus an exquisite run of Asian citrus, yuzu, grapefruit and kaffir lime, the whole thing slow-distilled and bottled in eye-catching hand-finished ceramic.

The nose is fresh, all yuzu and grapefruit over spicy juniper and a wisp of green tea. The palate is complex and elegant, intense citrus and light florals threaded with the gentle astringency of the tea, finishing long, fresh and dry with fine tea nuances. Build a G&T with a Mediterranean tonic and a grapefruit twist to draw out the citrus and tea together.
