Description
Don Fulano Blanco is a Blue Weber tequila from the Fonseca family, made at the La Tequileña distillery under NOM 1146 in the heart of the Tequila region of Jalisco. The agave comes from the Los Altos highlands, grown on iron rich red soil and harvested at around ten years old, the kind of mature plant that gives concentrated sugar and developed flavor. The family distills across four and five generations, with agave grower Enrique Fonseca and blender Sergio Mendoza behind the line.
Like all Don Fulano tequilas, the blanco is a blend of two methods, one part made in a copper pot still and one in a column still, the pot lending body and the column refining it. It is rested sixty days in stainless steel before bottling and made deliberately additive-free, a position the producer is known for. The highland origin tends toward a softer, fruitier read, and the spirit here is delicate, fresh and complex. Bottled at 40%.
