Description
Don Fulano Anejo is a highland tequila from the Fonseca family, whose agave grows in the cooler iron rich clay of Los Altos, Jalisco. It is distilled across the fourth and fifth generations by agave grower Enrique Fonseca and blender Sergio Mendoza at the La Tequilena distillery near the town of Tequila, NOM 1146. Don Fulano is one of the few houses that states its tequila is made without additives, verified through Tequila Matchmaker.
Aged at least a year in oak to meet the anejo class, it carries an elegant nose of dried fruit, cooked agave and fine floral jasmine. The palate brings roasted almonds, baked banana, maple and roasted coffee, with the highland fruit sweetness rounding the oak. The finish is long and lightly dry. Bottled at 40%, it sips well neat and still holds up in a cocktail.
