Description
Champagne Deutz was founded in 1838 and ranks among the region's respected houses, with vineyards around Aÿ supplying the fruit for this rosé. The cuvee is built mainly on Pinot Noir, supplemented by Chardonnay for freshness and balance, with a small portion of still red Pinot Noir giving the colour and extra depth. Made by the traditional method with extended ageing on the lees, the wine develops a fine perlage and a gentle bready complexity to frame the red fruit. A Brut dosage keeps it dry and stylish.
The colour is a delicate salmon pink with a fine, lively perlage. The nose shows red berries, raspberry and strawberry alongside floral nuances and a hint of brioche. The palate is fresh and finely structured, with juicy fruit and a harmonious, mineral, long finish. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a tulip glass. It works as an aperitif and pairs with tuna tartare, salmon, grilled prawns and poultry, and its fruit carries into berry desserts.
