Delaforce Fine White Port

Delaforce Fine White Port is the white Port of the Delaforce house, produced under Real Companhia Velha, Portugal's Oldest wine company, from white grape varieties grown across the Douro Valley. It is presented as a versatile style meant equally for the aperitif hour and the dessert course.

White Port is made by fermenting white Douro grapes, then arresting the fermentation with grape spirit to hOld back natural sweetness and raise the strength to 20%. This wine is kept in a fresher, paler register rather than a long oxidative one, so it retains a pale colour over time and leans on tangy fruit and acidity rather than nut and caramel.

Expect a pale wine of medium sweetness, with a perfumed fruity bouquet, tangy orchard and citrus fruit and enough acidity to keep it light and balanced through a lingering finish. Serve it well chilled as an aperitif, long over ice with tonic and lemon, or with fruit-based desserts such as pineapple bavarois.
