An easy 40 percent stepping stone into single still Demerara, this El Dorado Enmore offers caramel, vanilla and chocolate over soft oak, with tobacco and orange peel on the finish, smooth and gently woody rather than fierce.
Description
This is Demerara Distillers' own El Dorado label, a single still release showcasing the Enmore estate, whose wooden Coffey still is the last of its kind running anywhere in the world and gives Guyana its more elegant, cedar and caramel toned cut. Bottled at an approachable 40 percent, it is designed to let the still's character show without cask strength heat.
Distilled on the wooden continuous Coffey from molasses, the spirit leans into caramel, vanilla, chocolate and roasted nuts, with light tobacco, coconut and orange peel over soft oak and a touch of leather. As an El Dorado it drinks rounder and sweeter than an independent full proof bottling, so this is not a bone dry sipper, but the lower strength makes it a friendly introduction for anyone who enjoys El Dorado 12 or 15 and wants a first look at single still Enmore in a relaxed, smooth format.
