A 17 year old Dalmore, a distillery bottling, at 42%. Dalmore is a full bodied, sherried Highland single malt from the shores of the Cromarty Firth. Its spirit stills wear cooling water jackets, condensing the heavier compounds back for a fuller body.

The spirit was distilled in flat topped wash stills and water jacketed spirit stills on River Averon water, for a full, opulent Highland spirit. Maturation in an Oloroso butt laid dried fruit, treacle and dark chocolate over the oily malt. Through oxidative maturity esters concentrate, the sherry turning to marmalade, treacle and dark chocolate. Refill oak lets the full bodied Dalmore character lead, orange and dried fruit beneath. Water comes from the River Averon, drawn from Loch Morie in the hills above. The distillery was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson on the Cromarty Firth at Alness.

Bottled at 42%, it is rounded. Baked fruit, coffee and a dark sweetness, with dried fruit, chocolate and orange from the cask. Beneath it run orange, dark chocolate and dried fruit. Dried fruit, orange and a treacly oak see out the finish. This is a rich, full bodied Highland single malt.
