A 15 year old Dalmore, a distillery bottling, at 40%. Dalmore is a Whyte and Mackay distillery known for its opulent, dried fruit rich style. It is owned by Whyte and Mackay, and its King Alexander III bottling nods to the clan legend.

It was worked through flat topped and water jacketed stills for a rich, oily spirit, building the luscious Dalmore style. Ex-Sherry wood, the Matusalem and Apostoles style, gave a deep marmalade and chocolate richness. Through oxidative maturity esters concentrate, the sherry turning to marmalade, treacle and dark chocolate. Years in oak round the spirit, the fruit deepening to chocolate, marmalade and treacle. Dalmore's sherry comes largely from the aged Oloroso casks of Gonzalez Byass. Long ageing turns the fresh orange towards marmalade, dark chocolate, coffee and a warm spice. Water comes from the River Averon, drawn from Loch Morie in the hills above.

At 40% it is clean and soft. Dried fruit, orange and a treacly malt, with dried fruit, chocolate and orange from the cask. The mouthfeel is heavy, the fruit carried on a rich, malty body. The close is long, fruit over a rich sherry. This is a chocolate, orange and dried fruit Highland single malt.
