From the bottler Drm Mr, a 13 year old Dailuaine, from cask 301327, bottled at 55.1%, one of 157 bottles. Dailuaine is a robust Speyside distillery at Carron, making a full bodied malt mostly for blends. The distillery was founded in 1852 by William Mackenzie on the banks of the Spey at Carron.

Worked through the big stills for a meaty, malty spirit, building the heavy Dailuaine style. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanilla beneath the robust, full bodied spirit. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the malt, fruit deepening to dried fruit. Dailuaine's heavy, malty make is prized by blenders for the body it gives. The name is Gaelic for the green vale, after the hollow in which the distillery sits. Its rich, robust malt has long been a backbone of the Johnnie Walker blends. The full bodied make rewards a long, patient maturation in good wood.

At 55.1%, undiluted, it is deep and fruity. Malt, dried fruit and a rich spice, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a rich malt sit behind the cask. Dried fruit, malt and a savoury oak see out the finish. This is the robust, sherried malt of Carron.
