Description
Seasca, the sixtieth release in the Celtic Whiskey Shop's Celtic Cask series, is a 22 Years Old Cooley single malt distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2025. The Dublin bonder drew it from a single cask, number 0862, at full cask strength, and the outturn ran to just 115 bottles for Ireland.
The whiskey moved from ex-bourbon wood into an ex-cream sherry cask, a sweeter, rounder style of sherry than the usual Oloroso, and the years show in its depth, typically fig, raisin and walnut layered over honeyed malt in the manner of long aged unpeated Cooley. At an undiluted 50.89% it carries its age with unhurried confidence, a late and generous look at stock laid down in the distillery's Beam era prelude.
