Captain Morgan Black Label 1980s

This is a 1980s era bottling of Captain Morgan Black Label, a dark blended Caribbean rum from molasses bottled at 40%. Older releases of this label, recorded here as unsweetened, sit closer to a straightforward dark rum than the sweeter spiced expressions the brand later became known for. As a vintage bottle its appeal is partly in the time capsule, a taste of how the line was built decades ago. Expect the dark sugar, molasses and light oak of a classic blended dark rum, drier than modern flavoured versions, suited to neat sipping by the curious or to a traditional dark rum cocktail.
