Signatory Vintage's Small Batch Edition series sits below the headline Cask Strength Collection in the bottler's range, releasing vattings of a small number of casks at natural strength under a numbered edition system. Edition #7 holds an 11 year old Bunnahabhain matured in Oloroso sherry casks, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2024 at 48.2% natural strength.

Where the Cask Strength Collection runs at single-cask level, the Small Batch Edition format combines a handful of casks of similar profile into a single bottling. That approach allows Signatory to release a more consistent and approachable expression than any individual cask might produce, while still preserving natural strength and the single-malt character of the spirit. The casks selected for any given edition are matched on cask type and age, so the resulting bottle carries an integrated profile rather than averaging out diverging characters.

At eleven years in Oloroso casks, the spirit hits the integration window where wood and distillate have fused into balanced mid-life maturation. Walnut and dried-fig markers from the sherry come through clearly, with leather and polished-oak weight running alongside. The Bunnahabhain coastal signature underneath holds: oily texture, light maritime brine, the underlying mineral character from the Margadale Burn spring source. The 48.2% strength gives the bottle full body without overwhelming heat. Natural colour, non-chill-filtered.
