Berentzen Fruit Selection Pear comes from the Berentzen house at Haselunne, a German distiller known for liqueurs and spirits since 1758. The Fruit Selection range leans on selected natural fruit, here sun ripened pears brought out in a particularly mild form over a gentle base, bottled at 15%. In the traditional fruit liqueur style the fruit is kept soft and rounded rather than sharp.

The nose is an intense pear aroma with floral notes and a hint of caramel and vanilla, the palate soft and round with a juicy pear flavour, a harmonious sweetness and a light honey edge, closing fruity and slightly creamy. Behind the bar pear gives orchard flavour and rounded sweetness, a useful fruit note for autumn and winter serves and for cutting the bite of a sour. It pours neat over ice, lengthens into a spritz, and takes well to sparkling wine. Serve it chilled.
