Atanasio Tequila Orígenes Blanco Espíritu Fuerte

Atanasio Origenes Blanco Espiritu Fuerte is a high proof 100% Blue Weber tequila from NOM 1599, the Familia Landeros distillery in Tequila, Jalisco, set in the lowland Tierras Bajas valley. Bottled at 46% rather than the standard 40%, it is the stronger sibling in the Atanasio range, with the extra strength giving it more grip and aromatic carry.
The agave is autoclave cooked, roller milled, fermented in stainless tanks in the open air without fibre and twice distilled in a stainless pot still, left unaged so the spirit shows itself plainly. The nose mixes cooked agave with fresh cut grass, peppery spice and a light citrus note, while the palate is rounded yet robust, dominated by pepper and agave with a herbal, faintly minty edge. The higher proof keeps it elegant but firm through the finish.
