Description
Atanasio Blanco is a 100% Blue Weber tequila produced at NOM 1599, the Familia Landeros distillery in Tequila, Jalisco, in the valley known as Tierras Bajas, where the same fabrica once made Cazcanes. The name comes from the Greek for immortal, and the line is built around a clean, agave forward house style.
The agave is low pressure autoclave cooked, extracted by roller mill from deep well water, fermented in stainless tanks in the open air without fibre, then twice distilled in a stainless pot still and bottled unaged at 40%. The result reads clean and direct, with a nose of cooked agave, herbal tones and green apple, and a palate that turns fruity and sweet with damp earth and black pepper. It is a straightforward valley blanco with the agave kept centre stage.
