A thirteen year Foursquare from Asta Morris, this unsweetened Rasta Morris single cask is full proof and creamy at 61.7%, coconut and vanilla over marzipan, butterscotch, banana and a woody, lemon-peel finish.
Description
Asta Morris bottled this single cask of Foursquare under its Rasta Morris label, distilled in 2007 and aged thirteen years at full proof. It is the St Philip distillery's classic pot-and-column blend, matured in ex-bourbon oak with no added sugar, keeping the familiar Foursquare comfort while cranking up the strength and texture.
At 61.7% it stays remarkably composed, coconut, vanilla, marzipan and roasted wood on the nose, then a sweet palate of vanilla, butterscotch and banana, closing with vanilla, spice, lemon peel and oak. Tasters single out its creamy texture, balance and well-integrated alcohol, a gourmet take on the house style without flaw. The wood develops further with air once the bottle has been open a while. A polished, creamy cask strength Foursquare for aficionados of the ECS profile who want it richer and stronger, ideal for slow sipping.
