Description
That Boutique y Whisky Company was launched in 2012 by Atom Brands, the parent company of online retailer Master of Malt. The bottler's defining visual identity is the artwork by Emily Chappell, which depicts scenes from each distillery's history, geography or cultural context in cartoon panel format. Each release is identified by batch number rather than year or cask number, with successive batches of each distillery's bottlings tracked through the running batch numbering. This Arran release represents Batch 4 in the company's Arran sequence.
Spirit was matured at Lochranza in casks selected for vatting into the small batch release, with the specific cask types and ages varying across batches in the series. The fourth batch follows the company's standard template of cask strength bottling without chill filtration and without added colour. The small batch format draws on multiple casks rather than a single cask presentation.
Small batch vatting at cask strength preserves the textural and flavour depth of individual cask interaction while producing a more consistent profile than single cask presentation would deliver. The Arran spirit signature of citric, vanilla, fresh fruit and honey remains the dominant flavour driver, with the cask contributions varying across the cask parcel that the batch was constructed from. The TBWC presentation focuses on the bottle artwork as part of the brand identity rather than detailed cask provenance disclosure on the front label.
