Description
Svenska Eldvatten was founded by Tommy Andersson and Pär Caldenby in Sweden and has built a reputation across the late 2000s and 2010s as one of the most consistent Scandinavian specialist independent bottlers in Scotch single malt. The Raskatter series translates roughly as quick cats from Swedish and presents single cask single malts under a specific visual identity within the broader Svenska Eldvatten portfolio. This 2007 vintage Arran 15 Year Old from cask 666 was bottled in 2023 for German specialist retail through the series.
Spirit was distilled at Lochranza in 2007 and matured fifteen years in a single ex Bourbon American oak cask. Bottled in 2023 at the natural cask strength of 56.8% without chill filtration and without added colour.
Fifteen years of ex Bourbon maturation produces deep cask integration, with vanillin, whisky lactones and the toasted oak sugar layer from American oak well developed against the underlying Arran spirit signature. The 56.8% cask strength preserves the full lipid fraction and the textural weight of the unfiltered single cask spirit, with Svenska Eldvatten's cask selection approach focused on identifying parcels showing standout standalone character.
