Description
The Sonnfeld in Austria has been distilling for four generations, with records of its schnapps-making reaching back to 1941. Today the family makes fruit brandies, liqueurs and gin, all in small batches from natural ingredients. This Gluh Gin is their seasonal warmer, a handcrafted spirit enriched with cinnamon, orange zest and apple slices to bring Christmas spice into the glass.
The nose is fruity with ripe apple, orange and cinnamon; the palate is sweet, all baked apple, orange zest and cinnamon stick. The finish stays long and gently sweet. To serve, warm 4cl with around 200ml of hot apple juice and garnish with orange zest, an apple slice and a cinnamon stick for a fireside mulled gin.
