Description

The Sonnfeld distillery has been making schnapps in Austria since at least 1941, and now in its fourth generation has turned that artisanal care to gin. Alpengin is distilled gently and slowly by hand in a traditional copper still, then bottled, labelled and signed one by one, so every bottle carries a little of the maker's hand and the flair of the Alps.

The nose is strong and fruity, juniper to the fore. The palate is versatile and fruit-forward, the warm juniper softened by lavender and elderflower into something rounded and easy, and the finish lingers long. Enjoy it neat to read its alpine character, or build a simple G&T with tonic and let the elderflower bloom.
