Description
Grand Marnier Revelation Grande Cuvee is a French orange liqueur from the house of Marnier-Lapostolle, built on an assemblage of Cognacs from the Grande Champagne region that matured at the Chateau Grand Marnier in Bourg-Charente before final processing, and is bottled at 40%. Its defining component is the extract of the Bigaradia orange, the bitter orange that gives the drink its characteristic citrus flavour and a subtle bitterness, after which the blend is rested for several months in oak to harmonise. The Grande Champagne Cognac base and Bigaradia orange are its signature.
The nose is fruity, the palate aromatic with orange, dried fruit, vanilla, apricot and nuts, finishing long. Behind the bar that Cognac depth and oak rest make it a richer, more complex orange than a clean triple sec, adding orange flavour, dried fruit and a fine spicy depth to a drink. It suits stirred and Cognac based serves such as a Sidecar or a Grand Margarita, and refines coffee and dessert. Serve it warmed and neat as a digestif, or use it where an orange liqueur with weight is wanted.
