Berentzen Winter Almond comes from Berentzen, the German distillery founded in 1758, and is built for the cold season around the rich, nutty flavour of almonds and a balanced blend of winter spice, cinnamon, cloves and other warming notes. It is a creamy, spiced liqueur made to a vegan recipe and bottled at 17%.
The nose is Christmassy with cinnamon and almonds, the palate intense and creamy with festive spice, almond, cinnamon and clove, the finish long and creamy. Behind the bar it works as a spiced almond body ingredient, adding nutty sweetness, warm baking spice and creamy weight to a winter cocktail, a hot serve or a stirred dessert drink. Tradition takes it neat, on ice or stirred into hot almond milk for a warming serve. As a creamy liqueur it should be kept cool once opened and used within a reasonable time, an almond note built for the festive end of a menu.
