Meukow Wild Berry & Cognac Liqueur

Meukow Wild Berry is a fruit and cognac liqueur from the Meukow cognac house in France, whose history reaches back to the nineteenth century and the move of the family business to the Cognac region. It builds wild berry flavour over a cognac base, so that the fruit sits on a warmer, more complex spirit than a neutral one, and is bottled at 30%. That marriage of berry and brandy is the signature.

The nose is fruity with elderflower, floral notes and fresh pastry, the palate fruity with ripe raspberry and blackberry, finishing long, sweet and fruity. Behind the bar it brings berry flavour, sweetness, body and a cognac depth in one pour, which makes it a useful base for a fruit forward martini, a berry sour or a sparkling long drink, and a quick way to add dark fruit to a stirred drink. Pour it neat, over ice or as the fruity heart of a creative cocktail. Serve well chilled to keep the berry fresh.
