Meukow Xpresso Café & Cognac Liqueur

Meukow Xpresso is a coffee and cognac liqueur from the Meukow cognac house in France, whose roots run back to the nineteenth century. It joins the flavour of roasted coffee to the warmth and depth of cognac, so that where most coffee liqueurs sit on a neutral or rum base, this one carries the aromatic complexity of a brandy beneath the roast. It is bottled at 20%.

The nose is strong coffee with dark chocolate and roasted nuts, the palate a balance of intense coffee, fine cognac, sweet vanilla and a subtle citrus accent, finishing long, soft and warming with cocoa and spicy oak. Behind the bar it brings coffee body and roast with an added cognac depth and a faint bitter orange edge, which makes it a richer choice in an Espresso Martini or a White Russian and a natural in a stirred, spirit forward coffee drink. Pour it neat, slightly chilled or over ice to show the cognac warmth, or stir it into a coffee serve.
