Description
La Cofradia Anejo is a Blue Weber tequila from La Cofradia in Jalisco, a house that has made tequila for over fifty years and bottles for several other names besides its own. As an anejo it meets the one year NOM minimum, spending twelve months in oak, where the barrel moves from a supporting role to a co lead alongside the agave and gives the spirit its golden color.
The year in wood is the defining step here. The house leans toward a soft, accessible style, and this bottling is described as a tequila without rough edges, very pleasant to drink, smooth and agreeable. The oak rounds the cooked agave base into something gentle and even rather than bold. Bottled at 38%, it sits among the milder, more approachable anejos in the range.
