Dry, strong and precise at 48%, with citrus and coriander framing a firm juniper berry and a fine floral-spicy lift drawn from Lake Constance botanicals. Steinhauser made its name on this lakeside craft, and the gin carries an IWSC trophy to match. Clear, powerful and properly tart.
Description
Steinhauser distils on the shore of Lake Constance, a family operation known for regional sourcing and careful craft, and SeeGin Blue is its powerful London Dry statement. Classic botanicals, juniper, coriander, lemon zest and angelica root, are joined by ingredients from around the lake that lend a floral, spicy depth, all worked through copper stills with no added sugar or flavouring. It took the London Dry Gin trophy at the 2014 IWSC, and the pedigree shows.
The nose is juniper-led with fresh citrus, floral accents and a hint of pepper. The palate is dry, strong and exact at 48%, citrus and coriander wrapped around a clear juniper berry with herbs and an elegant spice. The finish is long, clean and tangy. Built for a dry tonic with a twist of lemon, though it holds its own in a Martini or Negroni.
