Crushed red berries lead the way here, blackberry, raspberry, cranberry and redcurrant lending fruit and a bright lick of acidity over a classic London Dry backbone. A cheeky tribute to a gin-loving Queen Mother, made in Spain by the house behind London No. 1. Smooth, fruity and elegant, with a long berry finish.
Description
God Save the Gin is MOM's tongue-in-cheek salute to the British monarchy, its crowned logo a nod to a Queen Mother famously fond of a gin. Behind the playful branding sits Gonzalez Byass, the Spanish house also responsible for London No. 1. Alongside the classic spine of coriander and angelica root, the recipe is enriched with a basket of fruit: blackberries, raspberries, cranberries and redcurrants.
The nose is openly fruity, all red berries. On the palate it is smooth and elegant, the berries giving sweetness and a welcome thread of acidity over the juniper, with a long, fruit-stained finish. Keep it simple and let the fruit shine: a generous gin and tonic over ice, with a few fresh raspberries dropped in.
