Hanyu 15 Years Old 2000 is a single malt from the closed Hanyu distillery in Saitama Prefecture, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2015 at 46.5% for the Japanese domestic market. The 2000 vintage holds particular significance: the distillery closed in that same year, making this one of the final spirit runs Toa Shuzo produced before operations ceased.

Fifteen years in Ex-Bourbon casks delivered a profile that is characteristically Hanyu in its lighter register: malt extract and new wood indicate the active cask contribution, while vanilla sits alongside a notable smoky and tobacco-tinged thread that appears in some Hanyu releases and adds a dry, slightly austere counterpoint to the sweetness. At 46.5% and without single cask designation, this is a composed, accessible expression of the final Hanyu vintage year.
