Description
Togouchi Japanese Blended Whisky is the entry-level expression from Chugoku Jozo, the spirits producer in Kure, Hiroshima. This bottling dates to 2015, an early release in the brand's international expansion, and carries no age statement. It draws on both domestic and sourced stock blended and matured in Ex-Bourbon casks inside the company's converted railway tunnel.
The tunnel's stable environment is central to how Togouchi presents itself, and the house character leans clean and accessible: vanilla, light wood and a soft cereal base are the typical markers for this expression. The 2015 bottling was released for the European market at 40%, and represents the range in its most straightforward, introductory form.
