Description

This Great Dane release comes from Danish bottler Skotlander, drawing on classic Barbados molasses rum and bottled at an approachable 44.8%. Aged ten years and offered without added sugar, it sits firmly in the rounder, sweeter corner of the island style.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak, it shows burnt sugar, brown sugar and vanilla up front, with raisin and a gentle banana note that nods to the typical Barbadian fingerprint. The body stays soft and the finish lingers sweet with dried fruit, a rum best taken slowly and one at a time rather than poured in quantity. It makes an easy, comforting after dinner pour in the rounder Barbadian mould, more about gentle warmth and dessert sweetness than oak grip or bite, an unchallenging glass for a quiet evening.
